Kurt Fischer was project engineer at Nabih Youssef Associates for the adaptive reuse design and construction phase of this 16 story steel frame office building into luxury apartments in Downtown Los Angles. The retrofit if this project included a FEMA 356 evaluation and retrofit design using the City of Los Angeles Adaptive reuse ordinance. New concrete shear walls were introduced to the building to limit the drift of the buildings pre-Northridge steel moment frame connections.
